A Tree and a Rabbit Hole

I just want to give a quick thanks to The Wishing Tree blog for adding Dylan and to Holly for introducing me to the blog. You can check out Dylan's name on the tree here. Or feel free to have your own angel(s) added to the tree:

What a neat idea! I bet that tree is both awe-inspiring and gut-wrenching at the same time.

I just happened to be up late last night watching one of the late night talk shows, and they were interviewing Sandra Oh (from Grey's Anatomy). I'm not usually up this late, but I had a difficult time falling asleep or maybe I just needed to see her talk about the new movie she's in. It's called "Rabbit Hole". [Here's the blurb from IMDB: Life for a happy couple is turned upside down after their young son dies in an accident. Based on a play by David Lindsay-Abaire.] Here's the trailer:

"Does it ever go away?"
"No, but sometimes it becomes bearable."

I feel like I just had that conversation. It looks like a really good movie, and even if it isn't, props to the actors and actresses and producers and directors who "went there" and took on such a project. Alot of us know firsthand just how taboo babyloss and childloss topics are and to make a feature film out of it (even an indie film) . . . props, just props to you.

I've had that conversation so often. It's so hard to see new angel parents who ask 'When does it get better' and it doesn't. We just learn to cope differently. We'll always bear the scars

btw I hope it's ok to follow your blog?

I've tried to see that movie but it doesn't seem to be playing by me. But, it is so true. It doesn't go away. Our children will always be a part of us. We just somehow learn to breath again in a different world.

I've read good reviews about this movie but I'm really looking forward to seeing The Other Woman with Natalie Portman. In the movie, her infant baby dies of SIDS and I'm curious to see how accurate the portrayal of that kind of loss is. The trailer for it touches on a lot of things that you deal with after a baby loss.

I just checked out the trailer for The Other Woman, another movie that I'd like to check out now (thanks LetterstoClaire).

Natalie Portman is now pregnant (with her first, I believe). I wonder how/if her perspective on that movie has shifted at all.

Thanks for pointing that one out again, and kudos to those actors, actresses, producers, and directors as well!

Very welcome! I thought it was such a neat thing and figured other parents would want their babies on the tree too. :) I bet that tree is amazing.

I'm wanting to see the movie Rabbit Hole. Haven't seen it yet though.
